Winterhilfe Canton of Berne

Poverty in Switzerland is often invisible and means that the minimum local standard of living cannot be achieved through one's own efforts. Since 1932, Winterhilfe Kanton Bern has been helping those affected by poverty with services that provide relief and open up new prospects. Winterhilfe provides beds, clothes, shopping vouchers and school kits and pays urgent bills, e.g. for medical expenses. Winterhilfe promotes participation in social life by enabling families to go out together and financing leisure activities for children. Winterhilfe relies on the solidarity of the Swiss population, as it finances 100 % of its work with donations.

 

 

Moriya – Jointly Helping Sustainably

Morija is a Swiss humanitarian organization based in Wallis, which has been committed to vulnerable people in Burkina Faso, Chad, Cameroon, and Togo for over 45 years. Together with local partners, we develop sustainable solutions in the areas of health, nutrition, water, education, rural development, and humanitarian aid – with the goal of empowering people in the long term and sustainably improving their living conditions. Our projects are based on proximity, trust, and the principle of helping people to help themselves, so that changes endure for generations. Joël Children's Homecare Foundation

When a child is sick or disabled, the whole family suffers. Children who need special care present parents, siblings, and relatives with significant physical and psychological challenges. This can be compared to a never-ending marathon. With home nursing care from Kinderspitex, the quality of life for affected children increases, and at the same time, the entire family environment is supported and relieved. The Joël Kinderspitex Foundation provides care with competence, quality, and heart – quickly and uncomplicatedly.

Unfortunately, many urgently needed support services are not financed by health insurance companies or the IV [disability insurance]. Therefore, the children cared for by Kinderspitex and their families depend on your financial support instructed – this is how we run together for these children who cannot do it themselves.
